We are hiring an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for aWellingborough Primary School. The school offers a supportive leadership team and a rewarding experience.
Role Overview:
As a SEN TA, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to children with special needs , Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your role will focus on managing challenging behaviour. You will work closely with the child, teacher, and the SENCO to create a positive and supportive learning environment, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to the child's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating closely with teachers and SENCO to implement IEPs and behavioural strategies.
- Providing 1:1 support and assistance to a pupil with SEMH needs, focusing on behavioural management and emotional regulation.
- Utilising different methods to create a positive and engaging environment.
- Assisting with the personal care and well-being of the student as required.
- Communicating effectively to provide regular feedback to teachers, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- At least six months of SEN experience in the UK, particularly in behaviour support.
- Child enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in SEN support.
