SEN Support Staff

Job Description

Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Staff to join our team, providing essential support to pupils with various Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of SEN and have at least six months of UK SEN experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEN needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to adapt lesson plans and learning activities to meet the individual needs of SEN pupils.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Management Plans.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Monitor and report on pupils' progress, liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals as required.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils during school hours.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of SEN and experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, and PMLD.
  • A minimum of six months of SEN experience in the UK.
  • An active DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate registered on the update service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
