SEN Specialist Teacher / Tutor

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher/Tutor to join our team at a Secondary SEN School in Towcester. In this role, you will provide individualised 1:1 support and guidance to students aged 11-16, fostering their participation in the learning process and assisting them in achieving their unique goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Deliver 1:1 support to boost student engagement.
  • Ensure a personalized and inclusive educational experience.
  • Develop and implement tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Establish clear learning objectives based on prior achievements.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to promote progress.
  • Effectively manage and address behavioral challenges.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies.
  • Stay informed about developments and best practices in SEN education.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in UK SEN settings.
  • A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Patience and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to full-time, term-time work.
