Position: SEN Primary Teacher
We're looking for a fully qualified Primary Teacher who is enthusiastic about making a significant impact in the lives of children with special educational needs. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialised Teaching: Deliver tailored lessons that cater to the unique needs of SEN students, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their personal best.
  • Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support, adapting teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Positive Relationships: Build strong, trusting relationships with students, creating a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters emotional and academic growth.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with SEN coordinators, teaching assistants, and external specialists to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Assessment and Progress: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods to ensure each child's needs are met. Set achievable goals and provide consistent feedback to students and parents.
  • Inclusivity: Promote an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and ensures all students, regardless of their needs, feel valued and supported.
  • Parental Engagement: Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and any challenges, and involving them in the educational process.
  • School Activities: Participate in school-wide activities, such as sensory-friendly assemblies and adapted playground supervision, ensuring all students can engage fully.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed on the latest developments in SEN education, and participate in ongoing training to enhance your skills and effectiveness in supporting SEN students.
  • Health & Safety: Work with the Senior Leadership Team to maintain a safe, nurturing environment tailored to the needs of SEN students, including managing any specific health or behavioral needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Experience working with SEN students is highly desirable.
  • A current, valid DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and patience.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, particularly in a SEN context.
