SEN Education Support Worker

Location: Northampton

Salary: £23,000 - £24,000 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

Job Description:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Education Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in providing tailored support to young people with special educational needs, helping them to reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver high-quality education and support in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional 1:1 support and supervision for pupils aged 7-16, fostering their engagement in the learning process.
  • Plan, deliver, and document sections of individual learning programmes tailored to pupils' needs.
  • Support vulnerable young people in improving their emotional well-being and raising their aspirations.
  • Assist classroom teachers in managing pupil behaviour, delivering lessons, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and professionals as needed.
  • Prepare and organise educational materials and resources to support learning activities.
  • Implement specialist interventions as directed by SENCO or other professionals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to pupil education and care.
  • Safeguard and protect the welfare of all pupils, ensuring the highest standards of child protection are maintained.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated with best practices in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with SEN children in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour and supporting pupils' emotional and academic growth.
  • A full UK driver's license and willingness to transport pupils if needed.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Passion for helping children with special educational needs succeed academically and emotionally.
