Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Bracknell, Berkshire. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality language instruction, foster a love for languages, and help students develop linguistic skills in either French, Spanish, or German. The role requires a teacher with a minimum of 6 months of UK teaching experience who can inspire students and contribute to the continued success of the MFL department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and interactive lessons in line with the national curriculum for MFL, ensuring progress for all students.
  • Teach French, Spanish, or German (with the flexibility to teach more than one language preferred) across KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-level language exams, ensuring they meet or exceed their target grades.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback to help them improve.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support the development and implementation of MFL department initiatives.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, parent evenings, and professional development sessions.
  • Stay up-to-date with educational best practices, adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning needs.
  • Engage students in cultural aspects of the language to enhance their learning experience.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months UK education experience, ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant international teaching qualifications.
  • Specialism in French, Spanish, or German (teaching more than one language is desirable).
  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for MFL.
  • A passion for languages and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Strong classroom management skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-level language exams.
  • Familiarity with current educational strategies for language learning and student assessment.
