About the School:
Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is excited to be working with an independent special school dedicated to supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. The school caters to students aged 11 to 16, many of whom have additional learning needs such as dyslexia, social communication difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, and Tourette's syndrome.
Job Description:
As a Science Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the academic and personal development of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated science lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of pupils.
- Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated to learn.
- Assessing and tracking pupil progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Collaborating with other staff members and specialists to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Participating in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Candidates without QTS will not be considered.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is a must.
- Current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Minimum of 6 months UK teaching experience is required.
- This is a full-time position only; part-time applicants need not apply.
