Reception Teacher

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive team at a well-regarded primary school in St Albans. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality early years education, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping young learners achieve their full potential as they embark on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs of all pupils in the Reception class.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, play-based learning, and the development of key early years skills.
  • Assess, monitor, and record the progress of pupils, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, including teaching assistants, SEN coordinators, and senior leadership, to support the holistic development of each child.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community to support pupils' learning and well-being.
  • Uphold the school's ethos and values, promoting a love for learning, respect, and kindness among pupils.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in Early Years Education or significant experience teaching in the EYFS.
  • A thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and a passion for early childhood education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young children.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Experience working with children with diverse needs and abilities, including those with SEN, is desirable but not essential.
