Job Title: PA to Headteacher

Salary: £27,803.00 - £30,296.00 Annually (FTE)

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organized PA to the Headteacher on behalf of a leading school in Peterborough. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, providing essential support in a busy school environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing Enquiries:
- Act as the first point of contact for all stakeholders including staff, parents, governors, and external contacts wishing to speak with the Headteacher.
- Handle telephone and in-person enquiries in a professional and supportive manner.
- Assist in managing the school's email inbox, ensuring timely responses, particularly for correspondence directed to the Headteacher.
- Efficiently manage enquiries, directing them appropriately where necessary.
- Welcome visitors on behalf of the Headteacher and ensure they receive the information and support they need.
- Handle confidential correspondence and communications with the utmost discretion.
Administration and Diary Management:
- Coordinate and manage the Headteacher's diary, ensuring priorities are set and communicated effectively.
- Arrange travel and accommodation for the Headteacher as needed.
- Assist in managing the Headteacher's workload, advising on priorities and deadlines.
- Prepare reports, documents, and briefing materials for meetings.
- Maintain accurate records in both physical and digital filing systems.
- Assist with the organization of school events and special occasions, under the direction of the Headteacher.
- Conduct desktop research and provide summaries for the Headteacher's review.
- Occasionally provide support outside of regular working hours for key events such as parent evenings and Ofsted inspections.
Production of Legal Documents (School Behaviour Policy):
- Draft and send suspension and exclusion letters in line with school policy.
- Monitor suspension and exclusion numbers and produce GDC packs (Governor Disciplinary Committees).
- Organize GDC panel meetings for suspensions and exclusions.
Written Communication:
- Draft written correspondence on behalf of the Headteacher to ensure clear and professional communication with stakeholders.
- Proof-read outgoing communications to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist the Headteacher with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as needed.
