Midday Supervisor (SEN School)

Job Description

Dunbar Education Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and reliable Midday Supervisor to join a dedicated team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Letchworth Garden City. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with diverse needs during their lunchtime break.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist pupils during lunchtime in the dining hall, playground, and other school areas.
  • Ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of all pupils, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and assist pupils with their meals as required.
  • Implement the school's behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm and inclusive environment.
  • Support pupils with personal care needs, if required, following the school's policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other midday supervisors to ensure a smooth lunchtime experience.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and understanding nature, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices and a commitment to promoting the welfare of all pupils.
  • Flexibility and reliability, with a willingness to adapt to the needs of the school.
