Position Title: Mathematics Teacher - Specialized SEN Environment

Location: Milton Keynes, UK

Salary: £150 - £180 per day, based on experience

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: October 2024

About the Position:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Mathematics Teacher to join our distinctive SEN provision, dedicated to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role presents a fulfilling and challenging opportunity to educate students who benefit from a compassionate and understanding approach to learning. This is a contracted position with scheduled days off throughout the year, but please be aware that traditional term breaks are not applicable.

Role Summary:

As a Mathematics Teacher, you will become a vital member of a dynamic team committed to assisting students who encounter significant obstacles in their educational paths. The setting is distinct from conventional school environments, offering a structured and nurturing space focused on the comprehensive development of each learner. Your safety and well-being are prioritised, and you will collaborate with a team where everyone contributes to planning, ensuring that no extra work is expected beyond school hours. You will work with students aged 11 to 17 years.

Primary Duties:

  • Deliver interactive and customised Math lessons to students with SEN needs.
  • Work alongside a supportive team to establish a safe and organized learning atmosphere.
  • Address challenging behaviors while promoting the emotional well-being of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and execute individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics, particularly with a focus on students with SEN needs.
  • Ability to function effectively within a team, dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, employing a non-judgmental teaching approach.
  • Although a PGCE and QTS are not mandatory, we encourage applications from individuals with relevant teaching experience in this area.
