Lunchtime Supervisor - SEN School (Part-Time)

Position: Lunchtime Supervisor (Special Educational Needs School)
Hours: 10 hours per week
Working Hours: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Part-Time, Term-Time Only

About the Role:

Dunbar Education is proud to be working with a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school that provides comprehensive education, therapy, support, and facilities for children aged four to eleven years. The school caters to children with physical, medical, sensory, learning, and communication difficulties, with many pupils presenting on the autistic spectrum.

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the daily well-being of these children in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pupils during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist children with varying needs, including support with feeding, mobility, and social interaction.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and inclusive play among pupils.
  • Manage and address any behavioural issues in a calm and constructive manner.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure a smooth and enjoyable lunchtime experience.
  • Uphold the school's policies and procedures, particularly those relating to health and safety.

About You:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is desirable but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring nature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
