Community Support Worker (Car is Essential)

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join a school in Milton Keynes. This school supports students aged 11-18 with diverse needs, primarily those with Education, Health and Care Plans including SEMH difficulties. In a nurturing environment, you will work alongside our staff to support students in overcoming learning obstacles and developing their personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support learning activities on a 1:1 or small group basis under teacher guidance
- Assist in creating and maintaining a purposeful and supportive environment
- Promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all pupils
- Liaise with families to discuss timetables, routines, and daily handovers
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on pupils' responses and progress
- Participate in school visits and activities outside the classroom
- Contribute to the school's safeguarding practices and procedures
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care OR Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care OR Learning and Development OR Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce)
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle
- Child Enhanced DBS on the update service
- Experience working with children with SEMH difficulties
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
