Location: Bedfordshire

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Start Date: September 2024

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join a school in Milton Keynes. This school supports students aged 11-18 with diverse needs, primarily those with Education, Health and Care Plans including SEMH difficulties. In a nurturing environment, you will work alongside our staff to support students in overcoming learning obstacles and developing their personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learning activities on a 1:1 or small group basis under teacher guidance
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a purposeful and supportive environment
  • Promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all pupils
  • Liaise with families to discuss timetables, routines, and daily handovers
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on pupils' responses and progress
  • Participate in school visits and activities outside the classroom
  • Contribute to the school's safeguarding practices and procedures

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care OR Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care OR Learning and Development OR Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce)
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Child Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Experience working with children with SEMH difficulties
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
