Learning Support Assistant - Reception

Are you passionate about working with young children? We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our Reception class in a welcoming primary school in Bedfordshire, starting in September.

About the Role: As an LSA in our Reception class, you'll help our youngest pupils settle into school life, support their learning, and assist children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Duties:

  • Learning Support: Help the teacher with classroom activities and set up fun, engaging lessons.
  • SEN Support: Provide extra help to children with special needs, working closely with the SENCo to follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Settling In: Assist new pupils as they adjust to school, offering comfort and support.
  • Personal Care: Ensure the well-being and safety of all pupils.
  • Progress Monitoring: Keep track of pupils' progress and report back to the teacher.
  • Communication: Update parents on their child's progress and any concerns.
  • School Activities: Join in school events and activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience with young children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Understanding of early childhood development.
  • Experience with SEN is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Team player and able to work independently.
