The Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the team. The successful candidate will work closely with a specific child with additional learning needs, providing tailored support to enhance their learning experience, ensure inclusion, and promote independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a child with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.
- Implement tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist with personal care and behaviour management as needed.
- Support the child in social interactions and emotional regulation.
- Maintain regular communication with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to provide updates on progress and areas for further development.
- Ensure the child's well-being and safety at all times within the school environment.
- Foster a positive, nurturing relationship with the child to boost confidence and encourage participation.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a 1:1 capacity.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A good understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the needs of the child.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Qualifications:
- A relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other learning difficulties.
- First Aid or relevant SEN-related certifications.
