Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

Dunbar Education is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Learning Support Assistant to work within a Primary School in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. You will need to be able to support children with a range of needs including autistic spectrum disorder, speech, language and some learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a specific pupil or pupils, providing personalised learning support.
  • Assist with classroom activities and assignments to ensure the pupil's progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help the pupils build self-confidence and develop important social skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff, parents, and other support professionals.
  • Maintain regular communication to track and report on the pupil's progress.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational or support role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience and a passion for helping pupils succeed.
  • The ability to adapt to the unique needs of the individual pupil.
  • SEN knowledge will be advantageous.
