Bucks Pay Range 7: £39,646 - £43,759 Per Annum FTE
37 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Dunbar Education is excited to be recruiting for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor (Generalist) to join a dynamic HR team within the education sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional with a background in education HR, seeking a role that offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

Essentials:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or above.
  • Proven experience in HR within the educational sector.
  • Clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel between multiple sites.

About the Role
You will be working in a fast-paced environment, responsible for supporting various facets of the HR function, including recruitment, employee relations, absence management, and performance management. Working closely with senior HR staff and administrators, you will play a key role in resolving HR issues, assisting managers, and ensuring the smooth operation of HR services across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality advice and support to managers and staff on all HR-related matters.
  • Support the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, employee relations, and absence management.
  • Maintain HR systems, generate employment contracts, and manage payroll instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and best practice across the educational HR landscape.
  • Conduct Single Central Record audits and collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate workforce data.
  • Assist with job evaluations, HR data management, and the development of HR policies.
  • Actively contribute to the management of staff performance, disciplinary processes, and probation reviews.
  • Take notes at formal HR meetings and conduct interviews alongside recruiting managers.

What We're Looking For:

  • CIPD Level 5 or above (essential).
  • Proven experience in an educational HR setting (essential).
  • Clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel between sites (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and employee relations.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • IT proficient with a good working knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • A self-motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in job evaluation and policy development.
  • Knowledge of employment contracts and HR best practices in the education sector.
  • Membership of CIPD (desirable but not essential).

Terms of Employment:

  • Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week).
  • Salary: Bucks Pay Range 7, starting at £39,646 per annum (FTE).
  • 25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • Enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme (with an option to opt out).
