Responsibilities: As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will have the following key responsibilities:

  1. Establish Positive and Productive Working Relationships: Build strong and supportive connections with students to create a conducive learning environment. Foster inclusivity and diversity by ensuring all students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate.

  2. Personal Development Support: Conduct 1:1 keyworker sessions to provide personalised support and guidance to students. Assist them in achieving their academic and personal development goals, offering constructive feedback and encouragement.

  3. Encourage Inclusion within the Classroom: Take into consideration the unique needs of students with special requirements. Facilitate their access to lessons and course materials through appropriate clarification, explanations, and the provision of necessary equipment and materials.

  4. Collaborate with Teachers and Staff: Work closely with teaching staff to enhance the overall learning experience. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, activities, and classroom management when required.

  5. Classroom Assistance: Support the teacher during lessons by addressing individual student needs, managing behaviour, and ensuring a positive and engaging classroom environment.

  6. Extra-Curricular Activities: Participate in school-wide events and extra-curricular activities to contribute to the holistic development of students and foster a sense of community within the school.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with varying needs.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
