Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join the dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage pupils, fostering a love for design and technology while preparing them for their GCSE exams. This role requires an individual who is enthusiastic about shaping the future of young learners and committed to maintaining high educational standards.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons to GCSE pupils.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative lesson plans that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and contribute to extra-curricular activities related to design and technology.
  • Stay current with educational best practices and advancements in the field of design technology.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations in the workshop.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialization in Design Technology.
  • Proven experience teaching Design Technology at the GCSE level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for design and technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire pupils of varying abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the broader school community.
