About the Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our team, providing daily cover across various secondary schools in Ealing. This is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy working in different environments, as you will have the chance to support students across a range of subjects and year groups.
As a Cover Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience in the absence of regular teaching staff. You will supervise classes, maintain a positive learning environment, and manage classroom behaviour, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their work.
Key Duties:
- Supervise students during teacher absences, ensuring a safe and productive classroom environment.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and learning activities to students across various subjects.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Provide support and guidance to students as they complete assigned tasks.
- Report any incidents or issues to senior staff as needed.
- Adapt to the varying needs and routines of different schools, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred, particularly in a supervisory or support role. Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Tutor, or similar role would be advantageous.
- Qualifications: A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths is required. A degree or relevant qualifications in education, child development, or related fields are highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Confidence in managing classroom behavior is a must.
- Personal Attributes: We are looking for individuals who are adaptable, proactive, and able to think on their feet. You should be comfortable working in different schools and with diverse student groups.
- Availability: Flexibility is key, as this role requires daily availability to cover various schools at short notice.
