About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the subject teacher. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and is considering a career in education. You will help maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring students stay on task with the work set by their teachers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students stay engaged with set tasks.
- Liaise with subject leaders and other staff as necessary to ensure smooth classroom management during cover periods.
- Keep up to date with current legislation and best practices regarding cover in schools.
- Contribute to the school's self-evaluation processes related to cover and classroom supervision.
Qualifications and Training:
Essential:
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
Desirable:
- Training in areas such as SEN (e.g., ELSA, dyslexia) would be advantageous.
