Job Description:
Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Core Subjects Supply Teacher to join a vibrant grouop of Secondary Schools in Hertfordshire. As a Core Subjects Supply Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education to students across various disciplines, ensuring continuity in their learning experience during periods of teacher absence.
Responsibilities:
Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver dynamic lessons across core subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, and Humanities, tailored to the needs and abilities of students.
Maintain Classroom Discipline: Foster a positive and disciplined learning environment conducive to effective teaching and learning, managing student behavior in line with school policies.
Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
Curriculum Alignment: Align teaching strategies with the school curriculum, incorporating relevant resources and materials to enhance learning outcomes.
Differentiated Instruction: Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have equal access to educational opportunities.
Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to share best practices, contribute to departmental meetings, and participate in the wider school community.
Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of educational trends, pedagogical approaches, and subject-specific knowledge.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues, providing regular updates on student progress and any relevant concerns.
Requirements:
Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
Experience: At least 6 months of recent experience working within the UK education system, preferably in a secondary school setting.
Subject Knowledge: Strong subject knowledge across core subjects, with the ability to teach multiple disciplines at the secondary level.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with special educational needs and English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Professionalism: Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to upholding high standards of teaching and learning.
Enhanced DBS Check: All successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to employment.
