School Caretaker:

Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum

Are you a hands-on professional with a passion for maintaining a safe and vibrant environment? We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Officer to join our dynamic team and support the day-to-day operations across the entire school site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring a well-kept and secure school environment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on school premises, including building works and grounds upkeep.
  • Perform regular checks and maintenance of the swimming pool, including accurate record-keeping.
  • Undertake various cleaning duties such as graffiti removal, replenishing cleaning supplies, and maintaining areas not covered by the main cleaning contract.
  • Handle minor maintenance tasks such as unblocking drains, repairing doors and furniture, changing light bulbs, and decorating.
  • Operate and maintain lighting, air conditioning, heating systems, and other equipment after appropriate training.
  • Monitor health and safety around the school, including routine checks for legionella and fire alarms, and ensure fire escape routes are clear.
  • Provide access to external contractors, assist with moving school property, and manage the security of the premises.
  • Prepare rooms and equipment for school activities and events.
  • Conduct weekly safety checks and cleaning of the school's minibuses.
