We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic BSL Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at this school. As a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students with hearing impairments can fully access the curriculum and thrive in a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students who communicate using British Sign Language (BSL)
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and ensuring classroom activities are accessible to all students
  • Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere
  • Help students with learning materials, including translating spoken language into BSL
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to tailor support to each student's individual needs


What We're Looking For:

  • A proficient level of British Sign Language (minimum Level 2 or above)
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students
  • Strong communication skills, both in BSL and written English
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the wider school team
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in students' lives
