Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Salary: £23,631 - £27,370 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only (39 weeks per year)

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Attendance, Safeguarding, and Family Liaison Officer to join the team. This is a key role within the school, where you will work closely with pupils, families, and staff to promote excellent attendance, ensure the safeguarding of all pupils, and provide essential support to families.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Attendance Management:

    • Monitor and track pupil attendance, identifying patterns of concern and addressing issues promptly.
    • Work with families to overcome barriers to regular school attendance.
    • Implement attendance improvement strategies and support interventions.
    • Prepare attendance reports and liaise with the Local Authority regarding attendance matters.
  • Safeguarding:

    • Act as one of the school's Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL), ensuring that all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.
    • Respond to safeguarding concerns, making referrals to external agencies as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records of safeguarding incidents and actions taken.
    • Provide training and support to staff on safeguarding issues.
  • Family Liaison:

    • Build strong relationships with families, offering support and guidance to help them engage effectively with the school.
    • Assist families in accessing external support services when necessary.
    • Organize and lead family workshops and events to promote engagement and well-being.
    • Act as a point of contact for parents/carers with concerns about their child's welfare or education.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Knowledge of attendance management and strategies to promote good attendance.
  • Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting the well-being of children and families.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in safeguarding, education, or social care (e.g., DSL training) is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing a varied workload effectively.
