About the Role:
Dunbar Education is proud to partner with a dedicated SEN School in search of a committed and reliable Assistant Site Supervisor. This role is ideal for someone passionate about ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained learning environment for students with special educational needs.
Hours: 25 hours per week (1:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Site Supervisor in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school premises, ensuring all areas are safe, clean, and presentable.
- Carry out minor repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
- Support in managing contractors and external service providers on-site, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Monitor and maintain the security of the school site, including locking and unlocking the premises as required.
- Assist in ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to across the school site.
- Help maintain the school's grounds, including gardening and general outdoor upkeep.
- Respond to any urgent maintenance issues that may arise during working hours.
- Participate in setting up rooms for school events and activities as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of the school buildings and grounds, reporting any issues to the Site Supervisor.
- Assist with any other duties as directed by the Site Supervisor or school management.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and external contractors.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all members of the school community.
- Flexibility to respond to the needs of the school, including occasional additional hours if required.
- Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
