ASDAN Curriculum Specialist (Teacher)

Role Overview :

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated ASDAN Tutor/Teacher in Bedford to become part of our team in a SEN School. In this position, you will offer personalised 1:1 support and guidance to students aged 11-18, encouraging their involvement in the learning process and helping them achieve their specific goals and objectives. These students have SEMH difficulties and are taught by stage and not age to ensure their laearning developement is stable before moving onto an advanced level.

Key Responsibilites :

  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide 1:1 support pastoral support for developing strong, trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model.
  • Ensure a personalised and inclusive learning experience.
  • Develop and implement tailored lessons that align with the ASDAN qualification Framework and meeting each individuals needs.
  • Set clear learning targets based on prior attainment.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons for progress encourgaging engagement for learners to achieve their goals.
  • Manage and address behavior challenges effectively.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff and external agencies.
  • Staying up to date with best practices in SEN teaching, ASDAN qualifications, and SEMH support.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS and a relevant Degree.
  • At least 2 years of UK SENd experience.
  • Passion for working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Strong understanding of SEND best practices .
  • Experience working with the ASDAN cirriculam.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Patience and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to full-time term-time work.
  • Strong IT Skills for lesson delivering and assesments.
