Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
School: Large Primary School
Salary: Competitive, based on experience up to £23,297 FTE
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: As soon as possible

Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join the team. This role involves working closely with a specific child with additional needs, supporting their learning and development on a one-to-one basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping the child access the curriculum, develop essential skills, and achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a child with specific learning needs, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum and school activities.
  • Implement personalized learning plans and strategies, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the child's individual needs are met.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Monitor the child's progress and provide regular feedback to the teacher and SENCo.
  • Support the child's social and emotional development, helping them build confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly in a 1:1 support role, is highly desirable.
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude, with a passion for helping children achieve their potential.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
