We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join an inclusive secondary school in the Grays area of Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed educator to secure a long-term, permanent contract starting in September 2026. The successful candidate will inspire pupils across the secondary phase, fostering a love for design and practical skills. Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons to pupils across key stages.
* Implement a creative and challenging curriculum that encourages practical application and critical thinking.
* Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.
* Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular clubs and departmental initiatives.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues to share best practise and enhance the overall educational experience.
About You
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and possess a relevant degree in Design Technology or a related field.
* Demonstrate a genuine passion for Design Technology and a desire to inspire young minds.
* Exhibit excellent classroom management skills, creating a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
* Be an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking a supportive first role, or an experienced teacher (MPS/UPS) looking for a new challenge.
* Possess a strong understanding of current curriculum developments and pedagogical approaches in DT.
* Show a commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to a thriving school community.
