A inclusive school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide essential, personalised assistance to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs. This challenging yet rewarding role involves meticulously following Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, ensuring the pupil can effectively access the curriculum, and actively promoting their independence and vital life skills. We are looking for an individual available to start as soon as possible, with various contract options open for discussion, from long-term supply to a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver highly individualised 1:1 support to a secondary pupil facing complex learning challenges.
* Rigorously implement and track progress against specific Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement with and access to the mainstream or adapted curriculum.
* Champion the development of the pupil's independence across a range of daily activities.
* Actively nurture and encourage the acquisition of essential life skills to support future growth.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience providing 1:1 support for secondary pupils with complex special educational needs.
* You are adept at understanding and implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to achieve specific outcomes.
