A flourishing school is seeking an inspirational and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join our vibrant team for a permanent, long-term contract commencing September 2026. This exciting opportunity offers a salary paid to scale, providing a supportive environment for you to cultivate creativity and technical skills in secondary pupils. You will be instrumental in delivering engaging and challenging DT lessons, fostering a love for design and practical application within our diverse student body.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement.
* Create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages practical exploration and innovation.
* Contribute actively to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Design & Technology curriculum.
* Manage resources effectively, ensuring all equipment and workshops are well-maintained and used in line with health and safety regulations.
* Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and school-wide initiatives, contributing positively to our educational community.
About You
* You hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and possess a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Design & Technology.
* You demonstrate a genuine passion for your subject, with an ability to inspire and motivate young people.
* You exhibit excellent classroom management skills, promoting a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
* You are adept at differentiating lessons to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all learners.
* You are committed to continuous professional development and staying current with pedagogical best practices.
* You are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for an excellent start, or an experienced professional (MPS/UPS) seeking a new challenge.
