Cover Supervisor

Join a highly regarded school as a dedicated Cover Supervisor, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless continuity of learning across various subjects. This vital position involves managing classroom dynamics effectively, overseeing student engagement with pre-set work, and maintaining a positive educational environment in the absence of the regular teacher. We are seeking an individual who can confidently step into diverse classrooms, offering adaptable support on a long-term, short-term, daily supply, or permanent basis, commencing as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Effectively supervise students in the classroom, maintaining focus on learning objectives set by the absent teacher.
* Implement the school's behaviour policy consistently, fostering a respectful and orderly environment for all pupils.
* Encourage active participation and engagement from students, ensuring they remain on task with their assigned work.
* Respond appropriately to any immediate issues or emergencies that may arise during class time.
* Liaise with teaching staff regarding student progress, behaviour, and any concerns that require follow-up.
* Uphold the school's values and safeguarding procedures at all times, prioritising pupil well-being.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for working with young people within a secondary school setting.
* You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive rapport with students and staff.
* Your approach to classroom management is confident and proactive, ensuring a productive learning atmosphere.
* You are highly adaptable, able to confidently cover a diverse range of subjects and year groups as required.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is central to your professional ethos.
* You are well-organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions meticulously to support lesson delivery.
