SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide vital support to primary-aged pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This crucial role involves working both 1:1 and with small groups of children facing complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties. We are open to discussions around various contract types, from short-term and daily supply to long-term and permanent positions, with an immediate start available and a competitive daily rate of £90 - £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to primary pupils with EHCPs.
* Assist children with complex learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, to access the curriculum.
* Implement individual education plans and strategies under the guidance of class teachers and SENCOs.
* Foster a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that encourages pupil engagement and progress.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support holistic child development.
* Contribute to regular assessments and observations to monitor pupil achievement and well-being.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.
* You have previous experience working with primary-aged children, particularly those with complex learning needs such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
* You are patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a commitment to making a positive difference in children's lives.
* You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.
* You are proactive and adaptable, able to respond effectively to diverse learning styles and individual requirements.
* A relevant qualification in education or special needs support is highly desirable.
