About the Role
A highly regarded school in the South East is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join their specialist secondary SEN provision immediately. This challenging and highly rewarding role involves providing crucial assistance to secondary students on the autism spectrum, fostering an inclusive learning environment where every individual can thrive. We are seeking professionals keen to make a significant impact, with opportunities available for daily supply, short-term, long-term, and permanent engagements, offering a competitive daily rate of £90 - £115.

Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate effective social communication skills among secondary students with ASD.
* Proactively manage and respond to individual sensory needs within the learning environment.
* Support students in accessing the diverse secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Implement personalised strategies to promote independence and engagement in daily activities.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff to differentiate learning experiences for optimal progress.
* Observe and accurately report on student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing to the wider team.

About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting young people on the autism spectrum in an educational setting.
* You exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and a profound understanding of diverse learning styles.
* You are adept at implementing strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
* You hold excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, colleagues, and parents.
* You demonstrate resilience and a proactive approach to overcoming daily challenges.
* You are committed to continuous professional development within SEN support.
