1:1 SEN Support Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join a well-established primary phase school specialising in special educational needs. You will provide tailored, full-time support to an individual pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairment. This vital role focuses on nurturing the pupil's development and fostering an inclusive learning environment. We are offering various contract options, including long-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, with a competitive daily rate of £85 to £110, for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain a strong, positive rapport with the designated pupil, ensuring their well-being and engagement.
* Diligently implement personalised education plan (EHCP) targets, adapting strategies to meet specific learning objectives.
* Collaborate effectively with a range of external therapists and specialists, integrating their advice into daily practice.
* Provide comprehensive 1:1 support, assisting with communication, mobility, and personal care as required.
* Foster an encouraging and stimulating learning environment that celebrates individual achievements and progress.
* Document pupil progress and contribute to reviews, providing valuable insights into their development journey.
About You
* You possess proven experience supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly those with complex learning difficulties such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* You have a genuine passion for making a significant difference to the lives of children with diverse needs.
* An exceptional ability to build trust and develop meaningful relationships with pupils is essential.
* You demonstrate a proactive and adaptable approach to your work, responding effectively to individual pupil requirements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and a desire to contribute positively to our school community are highly valued.
