A forward-thinking school in the South East of England is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant primary phase team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive support to pupils with complex learning needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, often through focused 1:1 or small group sessions. We are looking for someone available to start as soon as possible, with various contract options available including daily supply, short-term, long-term, and permanent positions to suit the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored support and interventions to primary-aged pupils with special educational needs.
* Implement individualised learning plans and EHCP objectives effectively.
* Facilitate engaging learning experiences in both one-to-one and small group settings.
* Support pupils in developing communication skills and managing complex behaviours.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and external professionals to monitor pupil progress.
* Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all children.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse special educational needs.
* You have demonstrable experience working with primary-aged pupils facing complex learning difficulties such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language challenges.
* You are adept at adapting support strategies to meet individual pupil requirements.
* You exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport effectively.
