An exciting opportunity has arisen within a thriving school in the Aylesbury area, specialising in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This crucial role involves working with secondary-aged pupils in a dedicated specialist provision, providing vital assistance to help them overcome barriers to learning. We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a role that can be offered on a long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent basis, commencing as soon as possible, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £95 to £120.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead targeted interventions for secondary pupils requiring SEMH support.
* Implement effective strategies for positive behaviour management and de-escalation.
* Guide pupils in developing essential emotional regulation skills.
* Facilitate the successful reintegration of pupils into mainstream learning activities.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to tailor individual learning plans.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a secondary setting.
* Exhibit exceptional resilience, empathy, and a patient approach to challenging situations.
* Display outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport effectively.
* Demonstrate a proactive and adaptable mindset, responding effectively to individual pupil requirements.
* Hold a genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
* Have relevant qualifications or training in SEN support, mental health, or child development.
