This outstanding opportunity is for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, working within a specialist secondary provision in Hertfordshire. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with their behaviour management, fostering emotional regulation, and facilitating their successful reintegration into learning pathways. We are seeking individuals available for immediate starts, with flexible contract options ranging from daily supply and short-term placements to long-term and permanent roles, offering competitive daily rates of £95 to £120.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to secondary pupils experiencing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.
* Implement tailored behaviour support plans, promoting positive choices and self-management skills.
* Assist pupils in developing effective emotional regulation strategies and coping mechanisms.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to pupil development.
* Facilitate pupils' access to the curriculum, encouraging their engagement and progress in learning.
* Contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels valued.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience working with secondary-aged pupils who have SEMH needs.
* Exhibit a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
* Hold excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong rapport.
* Demonstrate resilience, patience, and a calm approach when addressing challenging behaviours.
* Be proactive and adaptable, thriving in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
