About the Role
An ambitious school is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join their specialist SEN provision immediately. This vital role involves providing comprehensive support to secondary students on the autism spectrum within a nurturing educational environment. You will be instrumental in facilitating effective social communication, expertly managing sensory needs, and enabling full curriculum access for individual learners. This opportunity offers various contract options, from daily supply and short-term placements to long-term and permanent positions, with a competitive daily rate of £90 - £115.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to secondary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* Implement strategies to enhance social communication and interaction skills among pupils.
* Proactively manage and respond to students' sensory needs, creating a calm and supportive learning atmosphere.
* Assist students in accessing the full secondary curriculum, adapting materials as necessary.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans.
* Monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to assessments.

About You
* Demonstrable experience supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ideally within a secondary school setting.
* A genuine passion for fostering inclusive education and supporting diverse learning needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students, staff, and parents.
* Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting student wellbeing and academic progress.
* Ability to adapt support strategies to meet the evolving needs of individual students effectively.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and best practice in SEN support.
