We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join a nurturing educational community. This vital role involves providing tailored, one-to-one assistance to a secondary pupil with complex needs, ensuring their full access to the curriculum and fostering essential life skills. You will be instrumental in supporting EHCP targets and promoting independence within a supportive school environment, with options for long-term, daily supply, or permanent contracts.
Key Responsibilities
* Offer dedicated 1:1 support to a secondary pupil requiring specialised assistance.
* Implement and monitor Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets effectively.
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement with the curriculum across various subjects.
* Nurture the development of vital independence and self-help skills.
* Support the pupil in acquiring practical life skills for future success.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs.
* Demonstrate previous experience in a 1:1 SEN support role, ideally within a secondary setting.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships.
* Be patient, empathetic, and resilient in your approach to challenges.
* Show a proactive attitude and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
* Hold relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in supporting pupils with SEN.
