An inclusive primary school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairments. This vital role involves supporting the pupil's learning journey and personal development, fostering their independence within a nurturing educational setting. We are considering candidates for immediate starts, with flexible contract options ranging from long-term daily supply to permanent placements, offering a competitive daily rate between £85 and £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver dedicated one-to-one support to a specific pupil, addressing their individual requirements.
* Develop a strong, positive rapport with the pupil to facilitate their engagement and progress.
* Effectively implement and monitor targets outlined within the pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Collaborate closely with external therapists and specialists to ensure integrated support strategies.
* Assist in adapting learning materials and activities to ensure accessibility and maximise participation.
* Promote the pupil's communication, social interaction, and self-help skills throughout the school day.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly complex needs.
* Hold a genuine passion for making a significant positive impact on a child's educational experience.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience when working with vulnerable learners.
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of EHCPs and their practical application in a school environment.
* Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and external professionals, adapting your approach as needed.
* Be proactive, organised, and committed to continuous professional development in SEN support.
