We are seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join an inclusive primary school environment, providing specialist support to pupils on the autism spectrum within a nurturing provision. This vital role involves implementing structured routines, sensory strategies, and communication support to foster an optimal learning experience for children. We offer flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent positions, with an attractive daily rate between £90 and £115, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored assistance to primary aged pupils on the autism spectrum.
* Implement structured routines and visual aids to support predictable learning environments.
* Deliver effective sensory strategies to help pupils regulate and engage.
* Facilitate and enhance communication using various supportive approaches.
* Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to achieve educational goals.
* Monitor pupil progress, recording observations and contributing to individual support plans.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* Demonstrate experience working within a primary school setting or similar educational environment.
* Hold a strong understanding of various communication techniques and sensory integration strategies for ASD.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in a dynamic classroom.
* Possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to manage diverse needs effectively.
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
