This crucial role involves creating a nurturing and structured learning environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You will be instrumental in fostering positive relationships, effectively managing challenging behaviours, and delivering highly engaging lessons that cater to individual learning styles and support student well-being. Flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, are available to start as soon as possible, offering a competitive daily rate ranging from £150 to £250.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver tailored, creative lessons specifically adapted for primary pupils with SEMH needs.
* Implement proactive and reactive strategies to manage challenging behaviours, promoting a positive classroom atmosphere.
* Cultivate strong, therapeutic relationships with students, supporting their emotional regulation and development.
* Develop and contribute to individualised learning plans, ensuring each child's unique requirements are met.
* Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to provide holistic student support.
* Monitor pupil progress diligently, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methodologies accordingly.
About You
* You possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Demonstrable experience supporting primary-aged children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs is essential.
* You are adept at building rapport and establishing trust with vulnerable young people.
* A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach to managing complex behaviours defines your professional style.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate effectively within a team and with parents.
