An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a respected school in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. This vital role involves overseeing classes across a secondary mainstream setting, ensuring students remain engaged and productive in the absence of their regular teacher. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals for immediate starts, offering a range of flexible contract options including long-term, daily supply, short-term, and permanent positions. You will be instrumental in maintaining a positive and orderly learning environment, contributing significantly to pupil progress and school life within the East Midlands region, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £145 to £160.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise secondary school pupils effectively in the classroom, ensuring a safe and focused learning atmosphere.
* Deliver pre-prepared work to students, clarifying instructions and encouraging task completion.
* Manage classroom behaviour consistently and fairly, adhering to school policies and procedures.
* Provide appropriate support and guidance to pupils, fostering their independence and participation.
* Report any specific issues or incidents to the relevant teaching staff or leadership team promptly.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance and any noteworthy student observations during cover periods.
About You
* You possess prior experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school environment.
* You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport quickly.
* You are adept at managing classroom dynamics and promoting positive student conduct.
