About the Role
A dedicated school seeks a compassionate and proactive individual to join their specialist team as an ASD Support Assistant. This challenging yet incredibly rewarding opportunity involves providing crucial support to secondary students on the autism spectrum within a tailored educational environment. You will play a vital role in facilitating social communication, effectively managing sensory needs, and ensuring students can access the full curriculum. This position offers flexible contract options including Long Term, Daily Supply, Short Term, or Permanent engagements, with an attractive daily rate ranging from £90 to £115, commencing ASAP.

Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate effective social communication skills among students.
* Implement strategies to manage sensory needs within the learning environment.
* Provide targeted assistance to ensure full curriculum access for all supported pupils.
* Develop and apply individualised support plans collaboratively with teaching staff.
* Promote independence and resilience in everyday school activities.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting students with ASD, ideally within a secondary setting.
* A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) principles is essential.
* You exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and capable of working effectively as part of a team.
