1:1 SEN Support Assistant

This is an exceptional opportunity to provide dedicated 1:1 SEN support within a highly regarded primary school setting. You will be instrumental in nurturing the development of a pupil with complex needs, potentially including ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment. This vital role involves building strong rapport, implementing bespoke EHCP targets, and collaborating closely with various therapists to ensure comprehensive support. Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated and empathetic 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Cultivate a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil, fostering a safe and encouraging learning environment.
* Diligently implement and monitor individualised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and strategies.
* Actively liaise and collaborate with external therapists and specialists to ensure holistic provision.
* Support the pupil's integration into school life, promoting their independence and participation in activities.
* Accurately record and report on the pupil's progress, achievements, and any emerging needs to the class teacher and SENCo.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex special educational needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Exhibit genuine patience, compassion, and resilience, coupled with a proactive and adaptable approach to challenges.
* Hold excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport and effective teamwork.
* Understand the principles and practical application of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
* Be available to start this rewarding role as soon as possible.
