Location: Chesham, Buckinghamshire

Start Date: ASAP / Mid-November 2025

Salary: Main Pay Scale (MPS)

Contract: Full-time, Temporary (to July 2026)

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Class Teacher to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Chesham. This is a full-time maternity cover position starting in mid-November and continuing until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, ensuring all pupils are supported to reach their full potential, and contributing positively to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a Year 5 class following the National Curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support pupil development.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral care.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to high standards and inclusive practice.
  • Available to start from mid-November or sooner.
