We are looking for a passionate and committed Teacher of Performing Arts to join the Performing Arts department at a thriving secondary school in Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach Drama in a supportive, well-resourced environment with excellent facilities.

About the School

This is an oversubscribed secondary school with excellent facilities, including a purpose-built Drama studio and theatre space with brand new lighting and sound systems. Staff retention is high, and the school is proud of its strong sense of community and positive ethos. The Performing Arts department is well established, with a tradition of excellent outcomes at KS4, and Drama is taught as a discrete subject throughout Key Stage 3. Enrichment opportunities are valued, including popular drama clubs, showcases, and the potential for whole-school productions.

The Role

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in Performing Arts, inspiring and motivating students
  • Contribute to curriculum development, with opportunities to shape the KS4 offer
  • Support the delivery of enrichment activities such as clubs and productions
  • Play a key role in raising attainment and encouraging creativity, resilience and independence in students

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • QTS (or equivalent) and the ability to teach Performing Arts/Drama across secondary age ranges
  • A passion for inspiring students and developing a love for the subject
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • The ability to contribute positively to the wider life of the school
