Sen Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school on the outskirts of Northampton. This rewarding role involves providing tailored, individual support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with identified SEN needs
- Assist with personalised learning programmes and activities
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being and independence
- Support the pupil in both classroom-based and small-group/individual activities
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular reviews of progress
- Build strong, supportive relationships with staff, pupils and parents
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children with SEN within a school setting
- Is patient, nurturing and adaptable
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Can use initiative and follow guidance from teaching staff
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children
- Holds (or is willing to work towards) relevant TA or SEN qualifications
