SEN Teaching Assistant – Bedford

 

Full-time | Long-term to Permanent Opportunity | Immediate or January Start

Are you an enthusiastic and patient individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs?

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Bedford that is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

 

Role Overview:

You will be supporting students with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will help ensure each pupil can access learning and make consistent progress.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist with classroom activities, planning, and differentiation.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school-based or otherwise).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine desire to make a difference in education.
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
